Library Fine Art Show
Exhibit Prospectus
February 13th, 14th, and 15th, 2026
The Library Fine Art Exhibit during Gold Rush Days showcases the talent of the members of the Wickenburg Art Club. This show is held at the Wickenburg Library at Stone Park during the Gold Rush Days celebration.
Requirements
- Participants must be Wickenburg Art Club members in good standing with a W-9 and Hold Harmless on file.
- Artwork must be the artist’s intellectual property and artists should be prepared to answer any questions of ownership pertaining to the copyright of images used in their works. Only original artwork will be accepted.
- Size Restrictions
- Maximum size for 2D art is 32” wide (framed), 36” long (framed)
- Maximum size of 3D art is 24” on any side
Submissions and Jurying
- Two (2) artworks per artist will be considered. Entry fee is $20 for up to 2 entries.
- All art will be juried by digital images submitted through the WAC website. Each entry must contain:
- Name of the artist
- Title of the piece
- Dimensions of the work, (framed)
- Medium, (oil, watercolor, wood carving, etc.)
- Price
*Each piece accepted will have a title card that has been pre-printed and will be attached to the artwork at check-in. Please ensure your jurying submission contains the correct information so that your title card is correct.
- Photos of Artwork
- Images of 2D artwork should be taken without glass covering and cropped to eliminate the framing.
- Submissions of 3D work should have at least 2 images, one showing the front and one showing the back of the artwork. They should be taken against a solid, undistracting background.
- Because works will be juried based on digital images it is very important that they be clear and a true representation of the work. Works that differ greatly in their physical appearance than that of their submitted image may be rejected. Works with damaged or dirty frames will be rejected.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Thursday, January 29th, 2026
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION: Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026
Volunteer Requirement
Participating WAC artists must be available to volunteer for at least one 4-hour shift as a Gallery Host in the Library. If a submitting artist has a booth at the Artisan’s Fair, then it is their responsibility to find a substitute to take their shift. In the case that a displaying artist is a no-show for their shift then their piece(s) will be disqualified from receiving an award.
Drop Off Day
- Artwork is to be dropped off Thursday, February 12th, 2026, between 9am – 11am in the foyer of the Wickenburg Library. Artwork delivered later that 11am may be excluded from display.
- Name of artist, title, and price should be labeled on the back or bottom of each piece.
- 2D works must be fitted with picture wire for hanging. Works fitted with saw-tooth or other inadequate hanging hardware will be rejected. Gallery wrapped canvases are acceptable with a minimum one-inch depth.
- WAC reserves the right to reduce the number of pieces accepted for this exhibit due to space considerations, condition of artwork, or if they are deemed inappropriate for any reason by the Event Chairperson(s).
Damage or Loss
Submitting artists acknowledge, by the act of leaving their art for display and sale, that every reasonable effort will be made to protect their artwork. Should any damage, theft or loss occur, it is understood that neither the provider of the space, the Wickenburg Art Center and Gallery, or any officer, individual or exhibition committee or member will be held responsible for such damage, loss, or theft.
Awards and Ribbons
The show will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons determined by an outside judge. The number of ribbons and categories will be determined based on the number of entries in these categories:
- Watercolor
- Oil
- Acrylic
- Pastel
- Photography (including digital art)
- Drawing (including pen, pencil, ink)
- Sculpture (including wood, metal, etc.)
- Mixed Media (two or more media such as collage)
- Uncategorized (media such as stained glass, fiber, jewelry)
*AI generated work is excluded from this show
A Best of Show Award will be given to the work the judge determines exemplifies the top artwork of the show. A ribbon and $100 cash award will be given to the artist and the work will be prominently displayed on the Wickenburg Art Center and Gallery website.
A People’s Choice Award will be given to the work receiving the highest number of votes from the public visitors. A ribbon and $100 cash award will be given to the artist and the work will be prominently displayed on the Wickenburg Art Center and Gallery website.
- Voting by the public will take place between 9am and 5pm on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th. People’s Choice award will be displayed at 9am on Sunday, February 15th.
- Note: Artwork will be available for buyers to take immediately. This means that if your artwork sells before People’s Choice voting has been completed, your piece may not be available to be voted for.
Sales
- All artwork must be available for sale.
- Artists agree to a pay a 25% commission to the Wickenburg Art Center and Gallery on all sales. Payments to artists are customarily made within 2 weeks but may take longer depending on volume.
Take Down
All unsold entries MUST be picked up between 2 pm and 3 pm on Sunday, February 15th. Signature is required by artists, or alternate individual selected at time of drop-off, when picking up artwork.
