Biography
I began to explore photography in high school, after receiving a nice film camera as a gift. I fell in love with it and entered some of my photos in my local county fair, winning some ribbons for photos taken at Yellowstone on a family vacation. After that trip West and my creative work with that film camera, I knew both would continue to be an important part of my life.
In my early adulthood, I lived in Arizona for ten years and spent a lot of time visiting the back country, the rivers, and the wonderful National Parks. The wide expanses, and the amazing scenic vistas that exist there are often better described by photos than words. I guess you could say that part of the country got in my blood, and I craved opportunities to get out and photograph it!
While living in the Atlanta area for the last 20 years, I became very involved in the North Georgia Photography Club, promoting the club locally, curating a rotating art exhibit on the walls of local shops, coordinating club exhibits, and developing a mentorship program. I am proud to have won the club Photographer of the Year 2021, 2022 and 2023.
My husband and I finally made the move we have been planning for a long time to spend the rest of our lives in the two places we want to call home, Colorado, and Arizona. Although photography is currently not my day job, I am blessed to spend my free time exploring the landscape and seasons in both places and capturing the light and beauty my eye sees.
