The Wickenburg Art Club, Inc. (aka WAC), is once again at work preparing for The 66th Annual Wickenburg Gold Rush Days Artisan Fair! We are especially excited as we will be celebrating our 50th year of promoting the Arts in our community and beyond.  As many of you know, WAC manages the juried Fine Arts and Crafts spaces in Stone Park (on the library lawn) on Apache Street during Wickenburg’s Annual Gold Rush Days the second full weekend in February.  Our Artisans’ Fair dates for 2014 are Friday –Sunday, February 14th, 15th, and 16th with setup being Thursday, February 13th.  FYI: there are two (2) separately managed arts and crafts areas at Gold Rush Days,  The Wickenburg Art Club, Inc. manages the juried Fine Arts and Crafts spaces on the library’s lawn and The Chamber of Commerce manages all other spaces on the Community Center’s paved lot across the street, including a carnival, stage shows, food vendors, etc. besides retail, commercial crafters etc.

This is a well-attended and widely advertised fun show and a great opportunity to display and sell your art/handcradted work. We are a JURIED show and when your entry is approved, you will receive an acceptance letter, a receipt for fees, a Town of Wickenburg Special Events business permit, a list of motels/RV parks and restaurants, a town map, and invitations to (1) enter WAC’s  Fine Art Show and Sale in the library building during Gold Rush Days and  (2) “Friday’s Welcome Artisans” breakfast among other promotional handouts.

We have a few changes this year which you should know about.  Regretfully, several situations occurred 2013 regarding parking, which we had to address rather expensively. This being the case, and since this is a fundraising event for us, we have decided to get out of the RV space rental business and raise our space fee just a bit to cover the increased cost of the Town Special Events permits which allow you to sell your art. We do, however, have access to a LIMITED number of parking spaces and will provide the artisans on a first come, first serve basis by postmark date with a free parking pass on the request. WAC’s mission is to provide a quality venue for artisans to sell their art as reasonably as we can, and our research of other similar shows in the area tells us that we are still doing that. Our 2014 show fees will be $275 for a 10x10 tent space through October 31, then a late fee total amount of $300 from November 1 through January 31, 2014. Happily, the additional costs like electricity, if desired, and extra persons will remain the same at $15.00 each. Keep in mind that two (2) or more persons may share a space for this $15 fee for each additional person.  All names must be on the application, and all participating artisans’ Arts & Crafts must be juried.  This fee also applies to the husband and wife teams who are displaying different art/work categories.   Again in 2014, 2013 artisans are guaranteed their 2013 spaces through August 1.  Beginning August 2, all unclaimed spaces will be assigned to other artisans by postmarked date of request.
