Beginning Pottery Class – 01/08/2018


The Pottery Club will be starting Beginner Classes in January. We’ve got the new kiln installed, floors and all the improvements to the WAC will be finished very soon! 

2018 will be a fun year for pottery. There are classes available to sign up for now for anyone who has no clay experience, took pottery years ago and need a refresher, or someone with very little experience. 

You will be making a SW Luminary, platter, various bowls, pot/box with lid and feet. There will also be continuing classes and workshops available throughout the year. Including making Geckos, flowers, vases, Angels, coil pots, etc. Also, Wheel Throwing Classes as well!

Place:  Wickenburg Art Club on Tegner St

Date:  Classes will start on Jan 8th.  

Cost:   $120 (that will include 6 classes of instruction, 25 lbs. of clay, glaze and firing of all pieces made in class.

To take these classes and become a member of the Pottery club you need to be a current member of WAC. 

If you aren’t a member you can join. It is $40 for a year’s membership.

Classes will be on Monday and Wed’s.  

Jan. 8, 10,15,17th, then we skip a week (for drying and bisque firing of pieces) finishing on the 29th and 31st (for classes on glazing.)

We are going to have a morning class from 9:00 to 12:30 and an afternoon class from 1:30 – 5. these will be 2 different groups of students. Class sizes are limited and there are a only few spaces left.

These classes build on one another so we need you to be able to attend all 6 classes.

2018 Spring Fine Art Show – Prospectus, Application and Call for Volunteers

After missing the 2017 Fine Art Show, which would have been the 13th, we now have Michele Schuck and Lila Dudley stepping up to the plate to chair the 2018 Fine Art Show.

We will need volunteers to assist the set up and operation of the show, so please contact Michele at 623-536-9968 or e-mail her at

Positions needed:

  • Artists’ Reception Chair
  • Volunteer Coordinator to schedule the artists working at the show
  • Artist Check-in/Pick-up subcommittee
  • Someone who has a publicity/marketing background
  • A Resident of Wickenburg to help with mail
